after watching so much news on the si chuan earthquake, something triggered me to think that we as singaporeans are so darn lucky to be staying in singapore. we dont suffer from natural disasters because we're surrounded by neighbouring countries if we were to talk about tsunami. we're too small an isalng to feel the gretness of an earthquake. max we feel it, but not to the extent that our buildings topple or crash.

and i was thinking, look at taiwan and hong kong, reaching out to china so much. why isnt singapore helping china also? arent we all in ASEAN? arent we supposed to help chian when they need help? what the heck is the government doing? why is that that only this 2 countries are helping them nation wide? why is it that the artistes from hong kong and taiwan be so supportive to put down all their work and they are able to write songs to try in the very least give the people in si chuan hope and singapore artistes cant do it? i'm pretty sure they have the money, and they dont have to donate much. our currency is S$1 to RMB$4.5? its a lot to them when it may not be a lot to us you know.

yes, i agree that RP is collecting funds for these people in si chuan, but it was started by students from ISC (where mainly their members are from china). there's absolutely nothing from the government to ask for help from the citizens to donate to these people in si chuan. havent they thought about the cost they will need to rebuild the part that has been destroyed? what about food, clothes and other neccessities?

after thinking long and hard and after discussing with my mum about this, i seriously feel that although singapore is well developed, but we singaporeans are sure cold blooded. NOBODY is taking the lead to help these victims of the si chuan earthquake. none of singapore leaders are leading the citizens to raise funds for the people in si chuan.

what is happening? or is it that because we will not suffer the same fate as the people in si chuan which is why we are not taking initiative to help them? to some of you may know me as patriotic and be shocked to hear this from me, but isnt this the truth? this is what is happening, isnt it?

*sighs*
i really dont know what else to say about this issue. i just feel damn bad that singapore is not doing anything to help these victims of si chuan earthquake.
ah wells. i dont want to dwell on this anymore.

byebye.
